WHY IS VINNIE MAC SO ANNGRY?

April 6, 2015

Obviously, you can’t believe everything you read on the internet---especially wrestling related. Take it from me, a guy who was sworn to be meeting with, hired by and working for Lucha Underground, when in truth I had never even met the person who was almost guaranteed to be hiring me. That story was “created” when I simply visited the organization  six weeks ago to get content for my website.

HOWEVER---when you see a story surface numerous times, even though it may not be the “exact” truth, as many wrestling stories reported aren’t, there just might be some shred of credence to it. Since WrestleMania last week, it has been reported on numerous occasions, by numerous wrestling sites, that almost 70 year-old Vince McMahon . . . is just not happy these days. The first story circulated concerning Vinnie Mac and his anger with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, and perhaps some of the questions he asked Triple H when interviewing him on his podcast on the WWE Network. In particular, the one question that seemed to get Vince’s Fruit of the Looms in a bunch, was the one Austin asked Hunter regarding Chyna and her worthiness of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. As reported by some, this led to Austin deciding not to be a part of WrestleMania weekend.

The second incident that supposedly caught Vince’s ire, was the content and the length of some of the speeches at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. True, or not, it was reported that Vince felt some of the honorees went on way too long with their speeches of self-glorification, while it was also pointed out that he was also upset with Kevin Nash using the word “strap” when describing the WWE World Title. Now that one—I know has some validity to. In working for Vince---you knew that was a no-no. Vince HATED the use of “strap” when talking about the title, and when you were discussing it in creative meetings---you KNEW not to use that noun.

And, last, but not least, Vince seemed to be angry with WWE announcer, Byron Sexton, for failing to grab the “brass ring” when given an opportunity on RAW to man the announce position when Brock Lesnar took out all three commentators in a violent rage. It was reported, that Vince even sent Jerry Lawler out to the announce position on the fly---to bail young Byron out.

Now, to me---that’s a lot to be angry about over such a short span of time . . . especially when you’re pushing the big 7-O! Man, I’ve got to tell you, being 16 years Vince’s junior, even at 54 I’m looking at life being just too short to get upset over matters that are just so trivial in the grand scheme of things. A question asked? The use of a word? A non-experienced employee? Are these really worth anybody’s anger at 70 years-old, no less? Sitting back and reflecting on this, I’m trying to fathom what’s going to upset me in 16 years. Well, a Giant’s loss, of course. Perhaps having to wash a sink-full of dirty dishes. Being out of bubble bath for my 7pm soak. Missing the “early bird” special at Village Inn by 5 minutes. Reading about 16 year-old rappers who consider themselves “artist”---yeah---some of those thing would probably upset me for about three seconds---then I’d just want my Metamucil and the remote and all would be good for the rest of the night.

My point? VINCE---FREAKIN’ RELAX! None of those things matter in the grand scheme of things---NONE. With everything you’ve succeeded in doing in your lifetime, at 70 years-old it’s time to relax, stop and smell the coffee, have a cream soda, go to an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie---SOMETHING---ANYTHING!!! What is the point of always being mad at something, or somebody. Is an announcer experiencing growing pains really worth your wraith? Man, bro, who knows how much time any of us have here on earth? Me. Personally, I know I’d rather spend that time with a smile on my face and a Yoo-Hoo in my hand, rather than being upset over things that just don’t matter.

Enjoy today, because tomorrow . . . that chance . . . might just not be there.
