Adam Ottavino had pictched 2 1/3 innings over Saturday & Sunday, so he needing a day off may have prevented manager Walt Weiss from calling on him to finish the game.

Both Brett Gardner and Hanley Ramirez both escaped injury, when their tests came back negative yesterday after suffering minor injuries Monday night. Gardner suffered a wrist injury after being hit by a pitch, and Hanley fouled a pitch off his foot.
