I’M HOME, BUT MAN, DO I FEEL LIKE !@#$%^!
After my 12-day World Wind Tour of Germany and England, I got home on Monday night, and man, do I feel like !@#$%! I started to get sick while overseas, but had to just suck it up and push through. I’m not going to lie to you, this was my second trip to Europe, and each one has been physically draining on me. When the promoters book you over there, they make sure they are getting their money’s worth, which they should, but that usually means booking you every second, of everyday, in a different location. Now, while that may be SWELL for a 20, or 30-something, for me at 54, it’s draining and just wears my body down over time. Keep in mind, during that rigorous schedule, I was still trying to keep up with the BRAND every spare second that I had.
So right now, when I swallow, it feels like two pieces of sandpaper---coated in thick green mucus-- rubbing together at the base of my throat. It’s freakin’ horrible, but again I just have to fight through. That’s what they call “showbiz” . . . I guess. But, thankfully I’m home, back in my comfort zone with Yogi lying right next to me here in my office.
I saw many exceptional talents while I was over there, all living the dream to make it to the states and the WWE.
Unfortunately for the vast majority of them, just the fact that the plan ticket to and fro is a hefty one, is enough to leave many short of their goals. But, I’ll tell you what---they’re deserving---they work hard and are giving their all. I had to tell many of them that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, and they really had a good thing going where they are. They’re getting booked, they’re running consistently, their making money and perhaps more importantly---THEY ARE HAVING FUN--something that isn’t guaranteed if they were ever “lucky” enough to make it over to the states.
I’ve really grown to enjoy wrestling in Europe. The promotions that I have worked with over there XWX in Germany and IPW:UK in England, pride themselves on creating characters and telling stories. And, here’s one thing that’s really unique---they play to the crowd. They make the crowd a part of the show. I remember Disco suggesting that in the very early days of TNA, and he about got laughed out of the building. But now, having seen it done some 12 years later in a different country---it works if done right.
But now, it’s back to THE BRAND, and back to work! I want to take a moment to remind any of you who may be reading this, if you are a former member of the BRAND, you have until Sunday midnight to take advantage of your free month on THE RELM NETWORK. You should have been sent an e-mail which explains all the details, if you haven’t write me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will get them to you. Also remember that once the free trial expires, there is no further commitment, and nothing will be rolled-over on your credit card.
Also, for those who have taken advantage of the free trial, once it expires you will be asked if you want to become an “official” member of the BRAND for only $4.95 a month. I hope at that time you make the decision to sign-up.
Honestly, I love having the forum to discuss the things I am passionate about through blogging and podcasting, I can’t think of anything else I’d rather be doing in my career at this point. However, I can’t do it without the support of you. In return for your monthly membership, I GUARANTEE you that I will provide you with the best entertainment out there. I’m even kicking around the idea of podcasting FIVE DAYS A WEEK---we shall see!
So, let’s get back to doing what the BRAND does, taking names and kicking a**---it doesn’t get any better than that!
